Primary care is a patient’s main source for regular medical assistance. All family physicians and internists provide primary care. The goal is to provide a broad array of preventive and curative care. Preventive care focuses on disease prevention and includes shots/immunizations and screening tests. Beyond reducing pain or stress, curative care aims to treat patients with the intent of curing them.
